Finding the right support

Working with an eating disorder specialist is an important part of recovery. Here's what to look for:

  • CEDS or CEDS-S certification: Certified eating disorder specialists
  • Evidence-based approaches: CBT-E, DBT, FBT, or HAES-informed care
  • Trauma-informed: Understanding of trauma's role in eating disorders
  • Cultural competency: Awareness of how culture affects relationship with food and body
